In 09/2022 I attended a one-week summer school at IAC La Palma, with lecturers including David Jones (IAC), Henri Boffin (ESO Garching), and Cole Johnston. I acquired traning in the combined study of eclipsing binaries and asteroseismic oscillations, with a particular focus on coherent pulsators.
In 09/2023 I attended a short stellar spectroscopy school online, held at the University of Tartu. It covered the theory of stellar atmospheres and stellar spectroscopy, including hands-on sessions on atmospheric parameter determination and abundance analysis.
In 06/2024 I attended a workshop on advanced usage of the PHOEBE 2 eclipsing binary software. I collaborated with the PHOEBE developers and attendees to improve the software and our usage skills.
From 01-04/2025 I visited the eclipsing binary experts Pierre Maxted and John Southworth (the authors of the ellc and JKTEBOP codes) to collaborate. I learned and performed detailed ‘noise’ modeling of stochastic (solar-like) oscillations during eclipsing binary model fitting, with the use of Gaussian process regression.
From 11-12/2025 I visited the NOT, and performed high-precision radial velocity analysis of standard star observations of sigma Dra, at the request of the NOT staff. I used it to characterise their instrument performance to be 5 m/s over a 10 month observing duration. See my report on it for details
